Kanye West changes name to Ye….. and files a trade mark straight away!

It has been announced today that rapper formally known as Kanye West has officially changed his name to Ye. Previously a nickname, the rapper has committed to the short name by submitting legal name change documents.

Following from this change, Ye’s next stop was the US Patent and Trade Mark Office to file a new trade mark.

This trade mark has been filed for ‘fashion mask’ and medical face masks, and seems to suggest that he will jump on the bandwagon and put out his own pandemic themed products for his fans to buy.

Trade marks in the US take around 12 to 18 months to be processed from filing to registration so it may be that by the time this mark is registered, face masks are a thing of the past.

If you have a trade mark you wish to file in the US, please get in touch today.
