Today’s spotlight is on Moveero. Sali Morris who is the Head of Marketing & External Communications has been kind enough to give us an insight on the company’s trade mark journey.
Please tell us about your business and the background on how it all started!

In 2021 we re-branded the organisation and felt that it was important that we started to protect our IP and contacted The Trademark room regarding our Trademark portfolio.
Why did you feel filing your brand as a registered trade mark was important enough to make it a priority?
A change in ownership a change of name and a re-brand campaign meant we felt that it was important to protect our identity. As an organisation with the same name since 1908 – it was important that we raise the profile of who we were and protected our brand as well as our portfolio of products. We protect our products with patents and so its imperative to protect the names of those products in the same way.
Did you have any goals when it came to trade mark protection?
No goals – just to protect our names in territories where we operate cost effectively and reassuringly.
What did you learn during the application process?
Taking professional advice is imperative. It also removes the guesswork, errors, reduces the time of processing and your own time and reduces your cost by appointing professionals.
How did the Trademarkroom help you with the process?
Conducting searches, filing applications, attending to objections, and advising when registrations were complete. Also running fortnightly watch reports. The Trademarkroom are always responsive and respond to email or at the end of the phone for advice and guidance.
Do you have any advice for fellow business owners when it comes to trade marks?
Protect your IP – it’s important and an asset to your business. It may be time-consuming and costly upfront (don’t see it as accost see it as an investment) but if there was an issue the time and cost to rectify – if you can far outweigh the initial investment, not to mention the potential damage to your reputation or imposters using your identity.
