Michael is closer to home this week, and went along to the Royal Isle of Wight County Show.
Supporting the Trademarkroom’s sister company Lawdit Solicitors, who is a headline sponsor at the show, Michael was joined by the team to say hello to potential clients and interact with local businesses.
The Royal Isle of Wight Agricultural Society organises the County show each year, and showcases the rural delights of the Isle of Wight.
Royal? You may be thinking why are they called the Royal society.
Being the home of Queen Victoria, the Isle of Wight County Show is one of only a handful that have been granted Royal Patronage.
Under the Trade Marks Act 1994, the word ‘royal’ as well as a number of royal symbols and emblems cannot be protected as a trade mark, or used without express permission to do so. On the basis of the Royal Patronage, the County Show can proceed with using the word ‘Royal’ in its name.
