When applying to register a trade mark, you must use the classification system to specify the goods and/or services you’ll be using it on…. this is a short series in no particular order covering the class and how to draft the specification in question.
Class 16 is the relevant class when it comes to books or publications.
Any specification ought to include the following namely “Paper and cardboard; printed matter; bookbinding material; photographs; stationery and office requisites, except furniture; adhesives for stationery or household purposes; artists’ and drawing materials; paintbrushes; typewriters and office requisites (except furniture); instructional and teaching materials (except apparatus); plastic materials forsheets, films and bags for wrapping and packaging; printers’ type,; printing blocks”
Other classes to consider 9, 16, 18, 28, 35, 41, 43.
