Sunglasses and wellie boots at the ready…. its festival season.
Michael this week has been boogying it on down to a wide range of artists and bands at the Isle of Wight Festival. An iconic festival known around the world as one the the jewels in the UK festival crown, the Isle of Wight festival has hosted some of the biggest artists as headliners.
The festival was a hive of activity and a prime location for some trade mark spotting.

Looking at the festival itself, despite its history, with the first festivals held in the 1960’s and 1970’s, the current trade mark was registered in 2009. It is no surprise that this trade mark is registered in classes 9 for sound recordings, class 25 for clothing, headgear and footwear, and class 41 for entertainment services.
As well as the festival itself being protected with a trade mark, the artists and bands have their own brands protected with trade marks.

McFly were one of the most popular acts featuring in this year’s festival line up and are well protected with their trade marks. They have held a trade mark since 2001, also filing subsequent applications to ensure they are covered for the rights goods and services in 2004.
S Club featured at the festival, following a popular reunion. Their trade mark registration reflects their previous heyday, with the ‘S Club’ trade mark registered in 2006 for a wide range of goods and services, from perfumes, to clothing, to bed linen.
